Behind the scenes
Here we give you an insight into what goes into creating
The Art of Quilting magazine - from photoshoots to stitching shows,
we'll show you all of the things that inspire us and give you the
lowdown on everything that goes on behind the scenes….
Harrogate Knitting & Stitching show
We're always looking for inspiration for new projects, so we
jumped at the chance to visit the Knitting and Stitching show in
Harrogate a few weeks ago. Our favourite fabric shops were there
selling a huge selection of beautiful fabrics from Alexander Henry,
Michael Miller and lots more - it was too hard to choose just a few
so we let ourselves go wild! It was almost Christmas after all.....
Alongside our shopping we had a fantastic time exploring the
textiles exhibition where we were astounded by the creativity on
display, everything from quilting, knitting and embroidery to
felt-making and dyeing!
TV ad shoot
It's always great fun to get involved in a TV shoot - it's not
all glamour though as it can be hard work making sure we show as
much of the fabulous quilt as we can in a 20 second time slot! I
think it looks great, though - you can watch the finished ad on the
homepage and see what you think!
Magazine shoot!
On Tuesday I joined our photographer and designer on a
photoshoot for the magazine - we were shooting in an amazing house
and it's always a treat to be on location so it was a great day. We
shoot the pictures for the magazine a few weeks in advance so this
is a sneak peek at what you'll be seeing in a future issue - see if
you spot it when it appears!
